 Steps to Enroll

Here are checklists to help you through the admissions process. Please call or email if you have questions or need assistance. We're here to help you through each step.

NEW STUDENTS

Complete the following admissions requirements by the posted deadlines – typically one week before classes begin each semester.

1.    Submit online application through www.ApplyTexas.org.

2.    Submit your official college transcripts, high school transcripts, or GED scores to the Admissions Office. Official transcripts must be in a sealed institutional envelope and mailed or hand delivered to Brazosport College / Office of Admissions & Records / 500 College Drive / Lake Jackson, TX 77566. You may call 979-230-3020 to see if your records are complete.

High school students planning Dual/Concurrent Enrollment should contact their high school counselor.

3.    Submit your THEA scores or other placement test scores to the Admissions Office. If you haven’t taken a placement test, schedule an appointment with the Testing Center. Call 979-230-3647 or email Patricia.Solis@brazosport.edu

All new students are required to test in the areas of English, mathematics and reading unless they meet an exemption or waiver option.

4.    Online Student Orientation. Students with no previous college credit are required to watch a twenty minute orientation video online prior to registering for classes. If you have any questions about orientation, call 979-230-3355.

Gator Boot Camp - All first time college students are also required to attend Gator Boot Camp. You will learn about programs and services at Brazosport College. Register in person in the Admissions Office, or call 979.230.3010.

5.    Talk to a Brazosport College counselor to select courses. Let us help you select your courses and provide you with additional information. Call us at 979-230-3040 or stop by the Counseling Office in the E-wing. Appointments are not required.

6.    Visit the Financial Aid Office to find out about financial assistance opportunities. While there, pick up a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Scholarship application. Call 979-230-3377 or visit Room E-101 in the E-wing.

7.    Register online or onsite at the Enrollment Assistance Center. The Center is open from 8:00am to 6:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am to 11:30 am on Friday, unless otherwise posted. The online registration system is available 24/7.

STUDENTS ENROLLED WITHIN LAST YEAR

1.  Students who were enrolled in the past year, who are eligible to self-advise, and have no holds on their record may register online without clearance from the Admissions Office.

2.  Students who were enrolled during the past year, and have met their THEA/COMPASS requirements, and have been cleared for admission and advisement, but are not eligible to self-advise, must still be advised by a counselor or advisor and may then register online, onsite or at late registration.

3.  All students registering at late registration are required to be cleared by the Admissions Office. Late Registration fees apply.

If your address has changed, please notify the Records office in writing before registering.

ALL OTHER FORMER STUDENTS

1.    Submit required readmission items by registration deadline: an online application through www.ApplyTexas.org, THEA scores if required, and all up-to-date official college transcripts. You may come by or call 979-230-3020 to see if your records are complete.

Transcripts are to be mailed to BC directly from the sending institution. All transcripts from colleges attended since Brazosport College or from colleges concurrently enrolled in should be sent to the Admissions Office.

Students with a bachelor’s degree or higher need only submit only one official transcript showing the highest degree.

2.    Obtain an admissions clearance form from the Admissions Office and see your counselor prior to the deadline for online and onsite registration.

3.    Register online or onsite in the Enrollment Assistance Center.
